➡️ To know SiSo’s Fireside Chat series, is to love hearing from true innovators in tech. And this month’s guest was no exception. Watch here, as Weilin Wang, Founder of Care Registries, shares how she is using technology & AI to help people nearing end-of-life.

As always, some highlights for our readers:
Weilin saw the incredible number of logistics burdening families when someone was dying, and chose to use her tech expertise to give them the time back.
By using the registry model that people are familiar with from weddings and baby showers, communities can quickly understand and band around a family with practical and emotional support.
The product is built with Figma and Wordpress right now, and an AI Concierge is on the roadmap for more personal support.
Watch for more insights on creating a low-code MVP, building in this space, and answers to questions that you submitted on slido.

➡️ Peek into our community events! Join a Shadow with Lead Data Scientist, Robert Sharp, as he tests out OpenAI's new Search feature - and discovers its abilities and clear limitations. Search alongside him while you watch and explore the future of searching online.

💡 Silicon Society’s Thoughts on Product Management & Software Leadership
We knew this was a hot topic, but we didn’t realize the pervasiveness of the conversation until we sat down to chat with some tech journalists last month. They were eager to know what we’re seeing in industry as AI starts to play a more prominent role in the tech stack. Find some of our thoughts in these two articles:
Why AI is Creating More Demand for Managers
Starting an article description with ‘A recent study says’ isn’t the most catchy (we know!) but in this case, the data found on the new management skills required in the AI-age is definitive and clear enough to warrant a shoutout to this new study. Check it out, read our thoughts, and send us your ideas.
🗯️Quotable Bit: “Frank Fusco, CEO of Silicon Society, foresees a similar shift in the software engineering space. ‘As more and more pure engineering tasks become automatable, the ROI equation shifts heavily toward deciding what to build and why, coordinating a mix of human and AI resources,’ he said.”
The Rise of the Product Manager
You don’t always see the words ‘empathy’, ‘founder mode’ and ‘revenge of the PM’ in the same article. So when you do, it’s definitely worth a read. You know we have strong feelings on this (which you can read at the link!) and we will be watching to see how this plays out…
🗯️Quotable Bit: “Several companies, from Airbnb to Snap, are now reconsidering the utility of product managers entirely, while others claim that the product manager's reign will only expand in the age of AI. How did a role that barely existed before the 2000s become one of the most influential and controversial presences in tech?”
Do you need to file a Beneficial Ownership Report for your company?
We have some solid tech founders reading here, so sharing this article being circulated in a few startup chats. The author, Avi Kelin, explains that under a new requirement, nearly every startup in the US now must submit a Beneficial Ownership Information report to the federal government to avoid monetary penalties. TLDR: Get. It. Done.
In the great migration to BlueSky over the past few weeks, there has been much hyperbole on their decentralized set-up. This might be true in the future. But they're not there yet. Curious? This write-up breaks it all down.
🗯️Quotable Bit: “The issue with this is: if you want to look at one piece of content in the system, you also need to know about everything that happened before. For people using the Bluesky service, this isn’t something you need to think about. But behind the scenes, it’s helpful to know that everything being added to the service could potentially be available for anyone else to use for any purpose.”
